Brussels Sprouts with Ground Meat (Kıymalı Brüksel Lahanası)

Ingredients
- ½ kg Brussels sprouts
- 1 medium onion
- 1 carrot
- 100 g ground meat
- ½ small cup (~100 ml) olive oil
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 dessert spoon salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 cup (200 ml) hot water
Instructions
Remove the outer leaves of the sprouts, soak them in vinegar water for 15 minutes, then wash thoroughly and drain in a colander.
Peel the onion and dice it.
Wash the carrot, peel it, cut it lengthwise in half, and dice.
Cooking
Put the ground meat into a regular pot, place on the heat, and stir until it releases and reabsorbs its liquid. Add the chopped onion and olive oil, and sauté for 5 minutes.
Add the tomato paste, salt, and black pepper, and stir. Add the drained sprouts and stir.
Add 1 cup of boiling water, stir one last time, and close the lid of the pot.
Once it starts boiling, simmer over normal heat for 10 more minutes, then remove from the heat.
Serve hot.
